Main Street Promenade

Sequoia was selected to construct a 55,000 square foot 2 story office-retail building (known as MSP-E) in downtown Naperville, immediately adjacent to the city public parking garage. The project scope included the tear up and complete reconstruction of Main St. between Benton and Van Buren Streets. A unique feature of the structure is part of the 1st floor space was constructed under the elevated 2nd floor level of the parking deck. The structure consists of a steel frame, supported slab, with the exterior walls being structural studs, 7 different brick types, and cast stone with curtain walls and windows.

Filson

Sequoia General Contracting Corp. was chosen to complete the interior buildout for Filson, which is located in a tenant space of Sequoia’s award winning project 41 W. Jefferson Street. The buildout included a stock room, two fitting rooms, a unisex bathroom, and a sales floor. This Filson store was the first location in Illinois. This four week project was completed on time and on budget with a very happy tenant and landlord.

Country Village Meats

Sequoia was selected to be a construction manager by Country Village Meats to provide demolition services on the interior, upgrade the facade, build out a new meat market store on the first floor, and upgrade the four apartments on the second level.

The exterior was upgraded with EFIS for a fresh look .  The existing CMU was cleaned and painted. All the second floor windows were upgraded.  Also, a custom roof ventilation system was implemented into the EFIS.

The meat market build-out included three walk-in coolers, a walk-in freezer, and dry storage. The office portion included a break room, locker room, and three offices. The kitchen/service section included a prep area, mixing area, cooked meats (Kitchen), boiler room, wrapping area, service areas, and sales floor.

41 W. Jefferson

The structure is a one-story building, but it appears to have two stories matching the typical façade of Downtown Naperville and all other buildings on that block of Jefferson Street. The structure is designed to allow for an addition should future generations decide to add a second floor.

The new retail facility was built to compliment surrounding 100-year-old buildings and fit in seamlessly. The updated streetscape including paver sidewalk, landscape planters, and masonry seat walls help to connect Jefferson Street shoppers to the nearby Main Street Promenade and vice-versa. It required extensive planning, coordination, and implementation to complete this challenging project in just under 10 months.

Ben & Jerry's

This Ben & Jerry's retail space is located on Water Street in downtown Naperville, IL underneath the Hotel Indigo.  The scope of this project included the addition of a walk up window to the store front so that customers can order and receive their ice cream without entering the building.  Sequoia successfully coordinated with hotel management to keep construction volumes at a minimum and schedule inspections and testing for fire alarm systems during strategic times as to not disrupt their clientele.
